Cienfuegos Activities – Diving & Snorkeling

Diving and Snorkeling are the main water activities in Cienfuegos. At the Rancho Luna beach, more than 30 points of immersion await your visit.

Dive on the southern coast of Cienfuegos lets you do so in one of the most beautiful places in Cuba. Caves, labyrinths, vertical walls, more than ten sunken ships, all framed between the mysteries and whims of the coral formations full of tropical species and a paradise of submarine photography.

On the zone, there is safe diving all year long due to its meteorological and oceanographic conditions. These conditions result in excellent clean waters that contribute to the current of the gulf, allowing excellent visibility.

The water temperature is generally high (between 24 and 30 degrees Celsius), with very few cold days (between 14 and 17 degrees Celsius), during the December-February season.

The area of Cienfuegos coast, like almost all of Cuba, is narrow, a few hundred meters from the beach, reaching great depths, practising diving between 6 and 40 meters, approaching the abysmal vertical drop.

In addition to many sponges, gorgonians, flora and fauna in general, a particular motive is the sunken ships, which due to the position and conditions, allow the diver to take part in this underwater sport with fewer risks. You will find s wrecks of all the eras seen in the funds bordering the coast and inside the bay.

The prevailing currents and temperature are essential indicators for various life forms, which allow us to have the largest Cuban column coral (Dendroggyra cylinders) reported in Latin America. Many divers know it as “Notre Dame” Or “Lady of the Caribbean” for its excellent majesty and beauty.
