Varadero Municipal Museum
Set in one of the few important historic buildings in Varadero, the Municipal Museum of History holds several rooms displaying items related to the town’s history and the pre-Columbian peoples of the region. Visitors are treated to some collections of antique furnishings, while upstairs are some excellent views of the beachfront and coastline.
The small museum is located in downtown Varadero. It displays archaeological artefacts of aboriginal people of the region and antique furniture, documents, maps, photographs, and objects related to the town’s short history.
The house itself dates back to 1921. The beautiful architecture of this 2-storey wooden building is reason enough for a visit. It was one of the first frame houses built on the Hicacos Peninsula. The design, with its elegant wrap-around porch, is typical of beach houses from that period.
